NOTES from Tuesday Rehearsal

From Mr. Peerenboom:

Tuesday Into the Woods notes: 3/6/18
Act 1
Baker: make sure you’re projecting your lines at the top of the prologue
Witch: use your hood
ALL: don’t break character if you get off the music measures
Royal family: you don’t have to go up the stage left ramp to exit, you can take your carriage off upstage left.
Crew: make sure the green fabric isn’t folded it up so that when it falls it looks like a dress.
Jack: You need to come on a little bit sooner for the Cow as white as milk.
Baker: be more excited to see little red as you are looking to steal her cape
Little red and Wolf: work on the wolf eating you as it still looks like she’s basically jumping into the bed
Granny: articulate more
Jack: review your notes for Giants in the Sky. You weren’t hitting some of the high ones.
ALL: pick up your cues
Mr. Kays: Did the prince’s fanfare come in too soon?
C’s prince: review your lines prior to Agony.
R’s prince: don’t drop off on your final notes—keep the pitch true and don’t push so hard. It sounds like you’re thrashing your voice.
Baker: review your lyrics
Jack/Baker/BW: the hen scene was sloppy
ALL: Second Midnight was sloppy
ALL: cues continue to be slow
If Zoe fills in again for Rapunzel remind her that she should end up in an embrace with her mother at the end of the song
Men: no white socks
Baker: In a little bit sooner for “I have the Cow”
Where is the goblet??
ALL: it’s your job to check your props before the start of the play to make sure they are where they should be.
Good job on the post potion scene.
Royal ladies: you were off on the cutting of foot scene’s notes/timing at first.
Witch: exaggerate even more what you used to look like when you were a witch physically for Rapunzel and her prince
Cinderella: even stronger reaction to the fact that she says thank you for the slipper
Act 2
Witch: do you think that maybe you would not have your cane at all for act 2?
REPEAT NOTE: review your notes/lines for the Into the Woods sequence as the houses leave.
C’s: wait for your note before the Agony reprise.
Princes: you were under pitch as you held the note on Agony
Giant: you missed the line asking if Rapunzel was the boy.
Mr. Kays: you can start the transition music as soon as the blackout begins/the Baker’s wife dies
Which: when the group runs away from you stay down left so you don’t have to turn your back completely on us right before you throw beans
Witch: try to keep your legs down when you fall/die
Mysterious Man: wait a moment before you enter so that it’s just as Jack exits
Mysterious man: careful not to look like you’re trying to get off stage as quickly as possible as you exit at the end of your song
Jack\Cinderella\Baker\Little red: pick up the cues on your scene after “no more”
Cinderella: look the prince in the eyes as you say “and I have the far away Prince”
Cinderella and little Read: I did not understand your lines during the giant’s death scene
Where is Snow White/Artesia?
Sleeping beauty: you’re hair should be done up so that we don’t see the pink
Wolves: you can take off your masks for your bow if you like
