NOTES from Monday rehearsal
Per Mr. Peerenboom:
Monday
Act 1
Stepsisters: you can finish getting dressed on stage if needed
Jacks mom: careful of swaying and singing to the audience
Jack: milky white needs to be profile to the audience
B/Bw. When you notice the Cow as white as milk you shouldn’t be looking for it.
All: let the audience laugh/applaud
Baker: don’t break character
Crew: We need an emerald green dress to drop
All: if you see the audience they can see you
Baker: you stay on stage for TAGITS
Princes: let’s not do the Titanic reference
BW run off with the hair versus staying on stage. Check in with Claire about this
Prince: why did you miss your scene?
Jack/BW: Don’t throw focus to the baker as he’s going for the gold egg, throw it away from him
Witch: careful pushing Rapunzel around
Jack: tell LRR I like you touching your foreheads at the end if your challenge
Cinderella: stay in your light. The lower stage is in your light.
BW: Touch the cow and let us see that you think there’s flour all over it
Jack: stay on stage for the potion scene
Potion scene: you stay on stage and leave as the narrator speaks. See me about this.
Prince: even bigger reaction to blood in the shoe the second time
Stepsisters: don’t exit until your music cue after being blinded
Stepsisters: when he which pushes you don’t forget that you’re blind
Act 2
Royal family: your harmonies were lost on I’m so happy
Baker’s wife: make sure it sounds like you’re saying witch and not next door to a bitch
Baker: remember to go to Jacks house
All: the into the woods sequence/scene change was a mess
Baker: review your lines
Jacks mom: good cover, waiting for the steward to kill you
Steward: start exiting as the stepmother starts saying her line
Prince: keep the head pat that Bowen did just before he exited.
Witch: don’t exit during “your fault”—go up the ramp
Baker: review No More, and stay grounded. And you
don’t exit at the end
ALL: enter backstage quietly. The doors can’t slam.
Prince and sleeping beauty: make sure that you were centerstage so we can hear the yawn and Excuse me
