Call Backs for Wednesday
From Mr. Peerenboom:
Thank you to all who auditioned! Auditioning can bring up so many feelings—anxiety, fear, excitement—just to name a few. Thank you for taking the brave step to audition and express interest in being part of this marvelous story. We had nearly 60 people audition, and now we move to call backs.
There are several ways this play might be cast—exactly as it's written, double-casting all roles, double-casting some roles.... and.... having a chorus. Since this might not have been on some people's radar, we want to be clear that there might be a chorus of other fairy tale characters who sing just as the end of each act. If this was unclear, and you do not want to be considered for a chorus role, please email Mr. Peerenboom at jpeerenb@pps.net and say "I'm not interested in a chorus role". While being in the chorus can oftentimes be very challenging, we want no illusions that this chorus is special—it's an offer to be a part of the spectacle that is Into The Woods. There will be considerably less rehearsal time and considerably less stage time.
EVERYONE who auditioned is still being considered, and we need everyone's actor and parent contracts to be turned in. Please put them in Mr. Peerenboom's box in the main office no later than Thursday. If we do not have the contracts, we cannot consider you for the show.
Regarding conflicts: if any new conflicts have come up for you, you need to email Mr. Peerenboom at jpeerenb@pps.net no later than 6:00 PM Thursday night for them to be considered pre-excused. It is very important that we are clear regarding your availability so that we respect everyone's time.
Wednesday call backs will be primarily vocal and Thursday's call backs will be primarily acting. If you are not on the list below, please check again Wednesday night to see if you are called back for Thursday. We plan to have the show cast late Thursday or early Friday and will have the cast list posted by break on Friday. Friday after school we will have a brief 15-minute cast meeting, pass out scripts, and send you on your way for your break.
